The purpose of the consultancy is to produce designs supported by clear and concise documentation against which suitably qualified organizations can tender in a fair and equitable manner. The solutions designed shall be representative of the client’s needs, and shall ensure the delivery of those systems to his requirements, expectations, budget, and timescale. Additionally, the consultancy will deliver coordination as required with other consultants and project managers to ensure related services are sufficient to support the required systems.
Typical consultancy can be broken down into six phases
- Concept design – Establishing the requirement
- Schematic design – Preliminary Design work and co-ordination
- Detail Design – Detailed Design Work and Co-Ordination
- Tender Documentation – Generation of Documents for competitive tendering
- Tender Review — Assessing technical and commercial Bids
- Supervision – Management of Installation and Commissioning
